Public transportation in bigger cities is very well-developed and relatively cheap compare to other countries in Europe. In Italy, buses are very often the cheapest public transportation. You do need to do some research about the names of the stations that you want to get to, as no English is available there.
3. Restaurant tricks
Italian is renowned of their Italian cuisine. A lot of restaurants located around tourist areas have ‘tourist menu’. Avoid them as much as you can as you also need to pay tourist price for it. If you want to find local restaurants, always find the side streets away from tourist area and ask for ‘today’s set menu’. They are the most popular and yummy dish according to local’s taste bud.
4. Book online to avoid queues.
The high popularity of certain sightseeing spots and museums has led to the introduction of booking systems. In most cases you can book online or through your hotel. Some locations might charge you a bit of service charge, but it is better than standing in line for 2 hours before you can get into The Coliseum.
